Authenticity & Grading
A vintage watch is bought on trust. This is how we describe ours.
Every side, every flaw
Each watch is photographed in the same studio light: the dial, both sides of the case, the caseback, the crown and the strap, and the movement where the case can be opened. Marks and flaws are photographed too, not hidden.
Condition grades
We grade on the scale collectors know from Chrono24. A grade is a summary; the notes and photographs on each watch page show exactly what we mean.
| Unworn | Never worn. No signs of use. |
|---|---|
| Very good | Light signs of wear that are visible only on close inspection. |
| Good | Visible wear consistent with its age: light scratches, patina, small marks. |
| Fair | Clear wear or patina, described in the notes and priced for it. |
| Poor | Heavily worn or in need of repair. |
| Incomplete | Parts are missing, as listed. |
Originality
We compare the dial, hands, crown and movement with references for the model. When a part has been replaced or restored, the listing names it. When we have not been able to verify something, such as whether a watch keeps time, the listing says so.
If something is not as described
You can return any watch within 14 days of delivery. See returns.
