The collection

Vintage watches

Every watch is photographed in detail and graded honestly. New pieces arrive in small drops.

Buying a vintage watch from Stonevani

Every watch in the shop has been in our hands before it is listed. We compare the dial, hands, crown and movement against references for the model and photograph it from every side, including the flaws. Each listing says whether the watch runs and whether that has been verified, and if something has been replaced or restored, we say so.

Watches ship fully insured and tracked, and you have 14 days to send a watch back if it is not what you expected. See shipping and returns for the details.

How we describe condition

We grade on the scale collectors know from Chrono24: very good (light signs of wear, nothing that catches the eye), good (visible wear consistent with age) and fair (clear wear or patina, priced accordingly). A grade is only a summary: the notes and photos on each watch page show exactly what we mean. Read more about how we check and grade.

Vintage watch brands we stock

Omega

Founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848, Omega built some of the most reliable mass-produced movements of the twentieth century. Vintage Seamaster, Constellation and simple dress models from the 1940s to the 1960s are among the best value in classic Swiss watchmaking.

Longines

One of the oldest Swiss makers, founded in Saint-Imier in 1832. Longines made its own movements for most of the century, and its mid-century dress and sports watches are known for their finishing.

Minerva

A small manufacture from Villeret, best known for chronograph movements. Minerva dress watches, especially with salmon or two-tone dials, are a quiet favourite of collectors.

Rado, Edox and Junghans

Under-the-radar names with honest Swiss and German movements: an affordable way into vintage mechanical watches, often in better condition than the famous names at the same price.

Manual wind or automatic?

A manual-wind watch is wound by the crown, ideally every morning, and its movement is usually slimmer. An automatic winds itself as you wear it. Both are fully mechanical; the choice is about how you like to wear a watch.

Frequently asked questions

Are your watches authentic?

Yes. We describe any part that is not original. If a watch turns out not to be as described, you get a full refund.

Have the watches been serviced?

Each listing says whether the watch has been serviced and when. Unless stated, assume a vintage watch will benefit from a service by a watchmaker in the coming years.

Can I return a watch?

Yes, within 14 days of delivery. See returns.

Is a vintage watch water resistant?

Treat it as not water resistant. Gaskets age, so even a watch marked "waterproof" on the dial should be kept away from water.
