About this piece
Vintage Smiths De Luxe manual wind wristwatch from the late 1950s to early 1960s, made in England. The dial is signed Smiths De Luxe 15 Jewels with the crown logo and SHOCKPROOF text, featuring a textured silvered finish, applied gold baton and Arabic markers at 12, 3 and 9, and a sub-seconds register at 6. The English-made 15-jewel manual movement is visible in the photos, marked MADE IN ENGLAND. The gold-plated case measures approximately 34mm and shows honest plating wear and scratches consistent with age. The crown is a gold-tone generic replacement and the black leather strap is a newer unbranded item. This listing shows a genuine vintage British watch with attractive patina. Vintage piece showing age-appropriate wear. The silvered textured dial shows some patina, spotting and light discoloration but remains legible with intact printing. Gilt applied markers and dauphine hands present a warm patina. Case shows plating wear and scratches at the lugs and edges. Crystal has minor marks. Movement is clean and English-made, marked 15 JEWELS and MADE IN ENGLAND. Crown is a gold-tone generic that does not match. New unbranded black leather strap. Working condition not verified. No box or papers.
